The Makarska Riviera is one of the most popular beach escapes in Croatia, boasting mile upon mile of clean beaches and crystal clear waters, backed up by the shade of pine trees. Makarksa is the biggest of the resorts and a good base for exploring.

Day 1: Park as close as possible to the Town Museum. After a visit cut around the waterfront Marineta to the left towards the Franciscan Monastery. Wander back afterwards west to the museum through the old quarter one block in from the seaside. Spend the night in Makarska.
