Dubrovnik is a Croatian city on the Adriatic Sea coast positioned at the terminal end of the Isthmus of Dubrovnik. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations on the Adriatic, a seaport and the center of Dubrovnik-Neretva county (...) (from Wikipedia).
So smitten was the poet Lord Byron with Dubrovnik that he eulogised the one-time city-state as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’. Backed by steep limestone crags to the rear and fronted by the sublimely blue waters of the Adriatic, this perfectly preserved oasis is encompassed within sturdy medieval walls, which house a cocktail of baroque churches and palaces.

10th August.
Left Mostar and drove to Dubrovnik! Furthest point of the holiday reached. Got to Camping Solitudo in time for sunset over the bay and an evening swim to cool off.
11th August
Second night at Solitudo. Spent the day down at a little rocky cove, snorkelling and swimming. Fantastic spot. 38degrees. Didn't put enough sun-cream on Boosk- should have worn her rash! Went back to the van for snacks and got ready to go into Dubrovnik on the bus. Really easy to do. Dubrovnik old town was amazing. Lovely breeze in the evening (got hotter again later). Had dinner at tapas place - was fab.
