Aproape de catedrala de Chartres exista o constructie foarte ciudata a carei curiozitate consta in faptul ca peretii, curtea cu pavajul aferent, ghivecele de flori, zidul imprejmuitor s.a.m.d., sunt realizate in intregime din cioburi de portelan rezultate din spargerea a o multime de farfurii, farfurioare, cesti si cani din acest material. Constructia este vizitata anual de o multime de curiosi, care dupa ce parasesc, impresionati, catedrala de Chartres, se opresc la aceasta ciudatenie pentru a se deconecta.
